Bottle Brush Christmas Trees

Bottle brush Christmas trees are beautiful decoration items. You can use them as  accent pieces grouped together on a nice tray, in a shallow bowl, or on a winter wonderland scene.

This video shows you how to make your own collection of Vintage bottle brushed trees for much less than you’d pay for them in the stores. Plus, you have the advantage of being able to create various vintage looks, and the satisfaction of displaying something beautiful you created.

Great craft but where can we buy the trees?

Cristina Oakley @ 9:11 pm:

@ Penelope, I am glad you liked this craft. They look really nice displayed on a table or on a mantle in a winter wonderland scene.

You can get these mini sisal trees at craft stores. I have also seen them at 99¢ stores.

Penelope Coulson @ 11:32 pm:

Where can I find the bottle brush trees? Hobby Lobby does not have them. Any suggestions?

Penelope Coulson @ 11:33 pm:

I have tried Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I have spent hours on the internet. I have a group counting on me to get this material. I have not yet tried Walmart.

Cristina Oakley @ 5:51 pm:

@ Penelope I found a couple of stores online that have non frosted bottle brush trees in packs of 12.

At  clarionhousecollectibles.com , you can find them in packages of 12,

Cosumercrafts.com also has them in 4′  (2 to a pack)

Susan @ 3:50 pm:

I found a 21-piece set of these trees at Michael’s last night — they’re from the Lemax Village Collection. They retail for $16.99, but Michael’s had them for 30% off. The two tallest trees are almost nine-inches tall, while the smallest ones are two-inches tall. The only difference between my trees and those in the video is that my trees have a plastic “fake-snow” base, while the ones in the video have a painted-wood base. As soon as I got home with them, I bleached one because I was so anxious to see how it would turn out. It came out a nice off-white color. I bleached some more this morning and the effects are really cool, with a couple of them turning out two-tone. Even though they look cool and vintage even without decorations, I can’t wait to add that extra sparkle to them. I’m arranging them on my mantel.

I also found them at Wal-Mart. I bought two 9″-tall silver trees with little pieces of multi-colored sequins (not sure exactly if they were pieces of sequins or what they were — whatever they were, they were shiny). I believe they also had white. I don’t remember if they had them in green with white tips. There were two sizes, 9″ and 2″, and were pretty cheap. If I remember correctly, the tall ones were $2 and the small ones were probably .50. I found the trees in boxes on a bottom shelf in the Christmas section.

Mhairi @ 3:35 am:

They look like toilet brushes…….

Mhairi @ 3:36 am:

So if you cant find them, just grab a nearby toilet brush..a used one will make it “vintage”

Ellen Hassinger @ 1:28 am:

I would like to know how I could buy 31/2″ Christmas tree brushes or 4″ in a large amount? Thanks for your time.

Rebecca @ 2:25 am:

K-Mart also has these same Lemax sets of trees and they are less expensive than at Michaels. I wanted to make my own from scratch. I looked all over the internet and in stores and found no cheap bottle brushes. THEN I FOUND THE ANSWER. Target sells a VENT BRUSH for somwething like $3.99 and it is about 3 feet long. I am going to make a set of long slender bottle brusnh trees with this.

Ellen, there is a site called Red Line or Red Letter crafts that sells sets of the 4 inch trees.

JoAnn’s has bottle brush trees!

Margaret Martin @ 10:14 am:

Hi- I’m from Canada,& so far I’ve not seen one bottle brush tree anywhere.Anyway,on one of the Martha Stewart shows (a while back) she had a Bottle Brush Wreath, which I thought was lovely.I went to her web,& had no luck. The sizes your giving for the trees are quite small, where would one find brushes large enough to make a wreath? I sure could use some info on this. Thanks everyone.
Margaret Martin

Sylvia @ 8:12 pm:

@ Margaret Martin, Have you tried amazon.com? I bought a bag earlier this year with an assortment of about 25 trees of different sizes.
